BINS Saturday August 29
A play about what we discard, what we keep, and what we really value in the 'age of unaffordability'.
Show Description
A heartwarming story of the power of connection as three unlikely friends struggle to build relationships across differences of both age and ability. Drawing from the playwright's experience; a Vietnam Vet, a retired school teacher and an autistic young man find hope in friendship as they struggle to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles in the search to reach their own safe havens.
BINS casts an unblinking light on Calgary's housing and affordability Crisis as it follows three unlikely friends who meet in one of Calgary's most unique thrift stores. The friends come together to support senior citizen Iris as she endures the freezing Calgary winter, living in her car with her pet parakeet as her name inches slowly up the Affordable Housing list.
